I actually got a base pay raise once for daring to tell the VP in nice words that the reason nothing was getting done was more and more and more meetings being called by the manager on why we were getting behind. He ended the meeting, and escorted the manager to his office. The meetings stopped. Oh, my boss was sick so I’d filled in for him at this meeting….and I was with his boss and his boss’ boss. At least VP had some sense.
