    1-You can add food to the rice making it easier to clump together. 2-A lot of the rice in Asia is the sticky kind. Just push it together.3-Lift the container of rice to your mouth and push it in with the chopsticks.4-Aunty shouldn’t be such a know it all. 5-I suppose she’s against keeping a fork in your left hand when eating meat. Much more efficient.

    Too late to be read, but: Chinese rice is not sticky, and the bowl is lifted to the mouth and chopsticks used for shovelling.

    Japanese rice is stickier, and can be picked up in clumps.Both types are basically steamed.Glutinous rice is different again, and usually used for rice cakes and desserts.
