Pre-man made global warming also melted the glaciers that created the Great Lakes and San Francisco Bay. The apes are still not in charge.

So many things can be done besides yelling “the sky is falling”, sometimes I think the left wants the issue more than solutions..Solar panels need to be more affordable (and hopefully efficient) and users protected from the power companies trying to impose fees on their use. Culturally we need to make electric cars as commuters commonplace. Most people have more than 1 car, one for work (the electric) and one for the weekend. I’m sure there are other smaller things that can be done, but probably not as politically productive as yelling “the sky is falling”.

What’s keeping me awake is that the Tea Party is going so far off the deep edge into insanity that even Faux news isn’t going to keep 1/3 of the Republican party drinking the kool aid. Limbaugh’s ratings are at the lowest point ever, and he can’t keep sponsors. If people inside the Faux bubble are actually beginning to realize that there is a real world outside, it could reunite the Republican party behind a person who isn’t certifiable. Being a Democrat, I really appreciate the people in the Faux bubble. If a moderate can’t get the crazy vote, the Democrats win.

Oh please, the planet is fine. Some of the apex predator’s habitat is changing so some migration will take place. Eventually we will go the way of the trilobite and the planet will still be fine.

How is it people can’t figure this out just by looking at the world around them? Weather doesn’t just suddenly happen. Watch the evening news. The weather you see is a result of things taking place hundreds of miles away. Now look at the pictures of smog build up in several industrial cites like the ones in China. Do you honestly think this is only a local problem?.What about car exhaust? Haven’t you seen stories of people killing themselves with this? Basic physic: gas expands to fill its container. The Earth may be a big container but it is still finite space. Any bleed off of CO2 into space or abosrbed by plants does not balance out the output of a million+ cars on the road at any given time..You don’t need to be a scientist to figure this out. But you do need the ability to observe and think. I guess years of getting you “news” from msnbc, fox, and blogs has canceled that out.

Yea, maybe with the IPCC or climate scientists actually get something right with their predictions I might pay attention. In the mean time, when The Farmer’s Almanac is better at predicting the weather than the NOAA I greet the Gorebal Warming nonsense with healthy skepticism.

London and Los Angeles at one time had air as bad as, or worse than, any in China. Laws changed, things got cleaned up, and humans came up with a fix, because they knew they were the PROBLEM! That was on a regional scale, now we’re facing a global problem, and it WILL take a global response. In the movie the “problem” was the monkeys got guns, and were brighter than the people who couldn’t see the problem. Today we have these folks wanting to give everyone guns on the same side as the deniers, some “brilliance basket” indeed.
