They have been investigating for years and have yet to come up with anything of real substance. It is better than talking about the minimum wage hike they didn’t pass or voting to revoke the ACA for the fiftieth time.

Tee hee hee! More Benghazi! Please! Make conservatives look dumb!

The press investigated it, found nothing. The FBI investigated, found nothing. Darryl Issa investigated about eight times, never found a single piece of credible evidence, and his witnesses have refused to blame people who are innocent. Lately they discovered another email showing that the White House reported what the CIA told them to say. It’s not a smoking gun, there isn’t even a non-smoking gun.

This is so reminiscent of the 1990’s dirt-digging by Kenneth Starr, who was originally was tasked to investigate the Whitewater “scandal” Although he didn’t find any real smoking guns, the Republicans kept him on to keep digging until he found something on Clinton. All they could dredge up was the same women who were investigated before his election.

Of course, then Clinton HANDED them an unexpected bonus by screwing around with Monica Lewinsky!

(and THAT episode always reminds ME of the Bruins “too many men on the ice!” fiasco!)

And Issa had THIRTEEN hearings on Benghazi. Yep, nobody’s looked into that.

Just remembering the millions of people around the world demonstrating AGAINST our invasion of Iraq, that got about 1/1,000 the air time as those lying to get us into an illegal war action. Now there was a mainstream media orchestrated failure…

Republicans more or less bullied Democrats into voting for the invasion by falsely tying Iraq to the 9/11 attacks and making it look like anyone voting against it was unpatriotic. Most of the Democrats were too spineless to stand up for what’s right and vote against it. Both parties stayed true to form.

However, FOX News is getting very good at reporting the latest breaking Benghazi scandal and all the players and actors know their lines with nary a hesitation. .Yesterday from a distance I heard the dramatic reports, the breathless tones, the dramatic music, the switch to various FOX News contributors for expert opinion and I thought, surely they’re reporting the outbreak of WW3. Turns out they’d uncovered another email about something.

2000 to 2008 there were 13 American embassies attacked and 60 people killed. No big deal, a Republican president was in the WH.

Who knows and who cares at this point. It is likely that at the time, the exact motivation was not known but speculated on, and it’s quite possible the speculation may have been correct or it could have been incorrect. And quite probably the interpretation changed the more was learned and the more facts that were confirmed. Just like Benghazi. But for sure there was not a braying opposition trying to score political points by keeping the ideologically motivated narrative alive for years on end with pointless witch hunts and inquiries on top of inquiries.
