J.R.R. Tolkien and his brother lived with the local priest when their mom died. No problems.

Not all priests were child molesters.

Well Phil is certainly getting retconned from his original persona as a the foppish, eye-wandering white-bread boyfriend of Fritzi from the 1950s.

1] Interesting storyline — but let’s not forget Nancy and Fritzi back home (and when are Phil and Fritzi going to tie the knot, anyway? It’s about time…). 2] Mention “priest” or “Catholic” and the haters crawl out of the woodwork. Child molesters often plan their lives out around their perversion (and genuine religious belief can’t be considered a factor), and choose careers or avocations which bring them into trusted contact with children: they might be teachers, Scout/youth leaders, coaches, day care employees, clergy (any faith), or any number of other paths. For Catholics, the scandals have been grievous, and overall opinion among them has been that hierarchs within the Church should have done better. Statistically, however, your child is still safer in the presence of a priest that with a public-school employee — or clergy of many other faiths, for that matter.

Gee, what a coincidence! A priest who just happens to sing songs from famous musicians! Never hear about musicians in this strip!

It’s late but understand that the percentages of pedophilia are less among the priesthood than the general public. Your comments are ignorant and bigoted.
