Long years ago when I still lived at home we had a gopher problem. Also had chickens. I ran a hose into a gopher hole and to my surprise a bedraggled wet gopher crawled out a nearby hole… and the chickens saw it. I did not know until that day how bloodthirsty a chicken could be. They dispatched it messily and fought over the carcass for over an hour. Broomie should get herself some hens!
