As an employee, you do not have First Amendment rights. The corporation may have them, but the employees do not. You toe the company line or you will move on. He had choices – he could have said he had a change of heart or some such drivel and stayed on.
Cause if you have been, you’re not the kind of homophobic person we want working in our company, so good riddance to you. Maybe the homophobe Gary Varvel will hire you to write better comics for him.
Being opposed to Proposition 8 is not being a supporter of traditional marriage. It’s supportive of unconstitutional bigotry. I agree that he should have apologized, not resigned. But if he is still a bigot and cannot apologize, Firefox is better off without him.
“…but you do feel you have the right to force your belief on me”I personally fully support your and your church’s right not to recognize marriage. The Catholic Church already exorcizes this right. Some priests refuse to recognize heterosexual marriges not sanctioned by the Church. The Catholic Church also generally refuses to recognize heterosexual marriages where one or both persons had a divorce that was not sanctioned by the Church. While you do have the right to chose not to recognize my marriage based on your beliefs, you don’t have the right to tell the government it can’t recognize my marriage to a consenting adult.
What about the Fascist Religous who refuse to allow gay marriage even if it is SECULAR and not doing so is un-Constitutional? Why are you giving them a free ride? The gays were not the only ones angry at the CEO of Firefox… and there is a great difference between asking a person to leave because he was doing harm to people and refusing people marriage when it won’t change anything about YOUR life. If you want to call someone Fascist – look in the mirror.
@Born in the USA: What a lie. He was fired for financially supporting movements to refuse other people civil rights. His actions did harm to others – which is immoral too, if you wish to debate “morals”. Which is worse, giving money to organizations to insure that some people will be treated as second-class citizens, or asking that the people in your company leave for sullying your image because of their political Fascism?? DUH!
mrsmee you can enjoy your lifestyle i just do not want my tax dollars going to support your life style // in first case of bho not enforcing tax code on marriage he gave the girl freind/ wife of a dead bundler $5.6 million tax break
hahaha, please. If you’re against gay marriage, you’re a homophobe. There is no other rational conclusion. Parce it down to the source: either you’re afraid the world will go to hell or you’re afraid of the homosexual act. Either way you’re phobic. You’re afraid. You’re a homophobe. Otherwise, you wouldn’t oppose it ’cause it has nothing to do with you!

It’s more like “Are you now or have you ever been the type of person who will say controversial things in public.?”

Supporting traditional marriage is not what got him canned. It was supporting denial of non-traditional marriage.
