I swear, this is the most blackly humorous mainstream comic strip I know of without being autobiographical. The weak-willed martyrdom and self-centered, failed at life, in-law leaches just make you teeth hurt. Ed Stein has a dark place in his soul to create these folks. She needs to get over it and be glad there’s a roof over her head. I forget why they lost their house and had to move in with her daughter’s family. Besides, what new family expects to be taking in parents for whatever reason? They buy a house for their needs, not their parents.

This the point of the story where I would ask the old lady what her alternate plan was. And that I would help her FIND a new place to live and her deatbeat of a hubby could find a way to finance it.
