Energy demand to meet an often unreasonable demand based on actual “need”, will continue to cause increasing harm until we start to economize and conserve. As to oil spills, in one event, they kill thousands of times as much wildlife, from fish eggs, insects, to birds and mammals, as any other “green” source can begin to compare, damage-wise.
Another proof that our poorly planned and maintained transportation system of “energy”, coal, oil, or electricity, is a HUGE hazard, often as great, or greater, than “production”.
Oil companies should get a significant tax break so they can invest in some cleanup technology. After all, they are barely breaking even now and can’t afford to without some sort of subsidy. -I mean, they really, really, do give a whit about whether beaches are polluted or not, right?
The Obama administration just today got hit with a lawsuit for refusing to release EPA information on raptor bird kills by wind farms. Seems the adminstration is suspected of not fining these operations IAW law for the deaths and giving them a pass because they are in vogue “Green” projects.

You can do that in the Mojave desert now too near that new solar power plant. The birds I hear come out extra crispy!

It’s easier to observe and photograph wildlife when they’re not moving.
