I have a grand daughter that is this same way about reading, she whines until her mom agrees to read every other page,,,,,I keep telling them that she is not improving her reading skills if mom is reading the book to her. Just help her read. This child is in the 3rd grade and NOT a good reader.

I feel your pain about math. From high school on – it was a beast to learn..reading on the other hand…easie peasie.
