Yep, I suspect that is much of the problem, you can not only lay other objects down but you can also lay yourself down as you lie down..and that’s the truth

We CAN move on, but Earl’s gonna haveta crawl to do it..Let’s lie here and think about it a while firstand then lay a destination on us.No car chases in Pickles,lots of stillness and a wee bit of silliness.

Just because someone can write songdoesn’t mean he understands propergrammar.

Opal didn’t mention that “to lie” also means to tell an untruth.But, hey, half the people in the South never learned English!

Lying or Laying on the floor WHO CARES. All I see is that Earl’s tired and hungry…

English – if it were easy, everyone would speak it.

Wonder what Opal will take on next…your and you’re?complimentary and complementary?there, their and they’re?…or the use of adjectives when adverbs should be used?

A friend was at my house one day and told my dog to “Lay down.” She didn’t. I said to her, “He told you to lie down.” She did, and my friend cracked up saying the dog’s grammar was better than his!

“To”, “Two” & “Too”? “Bow”, “Bow” & “Bow”? (Now that’s just weird.)

Reminds me of the old saw about the tourist who told the Boston taxi driver, “Take me to the waterfront. I don’t want to fly home without being able to say that I had gotten scrod.” “Right!”, the taxi driver replied, reflectively. “You know, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody say that in the pluperfect tense before.”

I know about the pronunciations that rhyme with “so” and “pow,” but what about the third pronunciation?.Probably same as with pow againFront of a boat — pow rhymeType of tie or device for flinging arrows — so or sew or sow as in plant, but not sow as female hog, move that one to the pow groupBend to honor the queen — pow rhyme.And let us not forget bough and beaux
