An excellent depiction of the real history of oppressive invasion of privacy, and destruction of rights, by omnipotent authority (right wing).

Times have not changed much… The chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Mike Rogers, said, “if you don’t know your privacy is being violated, then it can’t be violated, right?” to three experts testifying in the NSA probe. Two agreed with him! The third not so much, suggesting they if you commit a crime and are not caught is it alright?Funny story, Mike Rogers’ wife, Kristi, was the CEO of Aegis, a company that deals in international intelligence. Aegis has a ten billion dollar contract with the government. She now sits on the board of Qualys, a network security company.

@Beau NoboThis reminds me of a quote from Benjamin Franklin from the movie “1776” (and I’m paraphrasing): “Revolutions are only illegal in the third person: their revolution. They are always legal in the first person: our revolution.” Suddenly I’m thinking: “If they are against us, they are ‘they’ but if they are for us, they are ‘us.’”
