Yes, I hear you! Took the tree down this past Sunday, NEEDLES everywhere! I decided to leave the decorations on the Entertainment Center and end tables out until this weekend. I used to go crazy decorating when the boys were little. I have SO many nice decorations in the attic I don’t even use anymore. Sigh! I bought lots of things at 50 to 75 % off each year the day after Christmas Sales, and then of course, my mom usually gave the boys and us a special ornament each year, which I will always keep. And then of course, there are the MOST TREASURED Christmas ornaments and such that my boys made in grade school! They mean the world to me, but the boys say, “WHY are you keeping those Mom”? To which I reply, “if you have kids of your own someday, you will understand”! :-)
I hate to be a “nay sayer” here, but the Prof, last I checked has not been banned. Her last comments are still there, which means she has chosen not to comment further, or something happened to her. Many people disappear around here, sometimes, some very good people, and we never know what happened to them, did they move on, did they become ill, or whatever, some of us have a system set up, with family members or trusted friends, that should something bad happen, they will post and let the others know. My designated are my sons, but they told me, “Mom, if something happens to you, we will do what you ask, at some point, but that won’t be our first priority for goodness sake, but we WILL do what you ask”.
The system was used and worked with Carmy and Hope and Joy.
Gee, I AM SORRY, I JUST GOT ALL MAUDLIN AND DEPRESSING HERE, but still, it is something to think about, an emergency contact system, you know? It seems we have a great community around these boards, and have made some wonderful contacts and friends, and it just seems like the right thing to do.
I hope so too, she is a LOVELY lady! She did post she was in hospital, and would be scarce. I think she posted at Ten Cats, not so many as 9 days ago. But I too have lost track of time being “invisible” and all.
