I just saw some burger-flipping kids protesting for $15 an hour!Who the hells getting 100% pay raises for the same work these days? How about you stay in school, use your $8 an hour pay for books and when you graduate, then demand more money. Or work your butt off, like the rest of us, and get promoted!Sadly, our prez has nationalized a sense of entitlement.
I wish more Board of Directors had the spine to make the CEO and officer compensation plans tied to profit, rather than share price or some such idiotic idea. CEO’s are overpaid, but it is their friends on teh board doing it.
It is sad but but it is not cynicism. It’s a matter of keeping one’s eyes open and following more than one news source. Roll with the flood and enjoy what you still can…
So a 16 year old kid that wants to make a few bucks after school flipping burgers should be making a “living fair wage”? He’s not paying rent, doesn’t have kids and doesn’t have credit cards to pay off.If not that job, what job should be considered entry level positions Mechanic? You do know what Entry-Level job means, right?
“Give the fast food workers more money, and they’ll spend it all, and the ripples will do a lot to stimulate the economy, which is the last thing we want. "..Why does the economy need to be stimulated? According to members of the Democrat party, the economy is doing fine.
“So do tell us, why is it okay for the CEO’s pay and bonus to increase the price of the product or service you buy, but the worker, the person actually generating the wealth for the company is wrong to expect a living fair wage?”..Are you really willing to pay $8 for a Quarter Pounder?
“Still unwilling to answer the question I see. A 1/4 #r doesn’t have to cost $8.00 to pay the workers equitably, neither does the CEO have to make 400 times or more what the average worker is paid..”..Even though it does not HAVE to be that way to pay the higher wages, that’s the way it WILL be. The CEOs won’t take from corporate pockets to compensate; they’ll take from ours.
