My husband made a rule that no presents for me could be electric: The basis of that is that they wouldn’t be personal enough. Actually I would like a Kuerig, and there are a couple other electrical things I would like as well!
I’ve gotten all kinds of kitchen appliances, including a microwave and one year I received an exercise bike! I’d love some jewelry or something else personal.
I would rather have gift certificates to my favorite restaurant for lunch. Just to go in, sit down, have a good meal, and no clean up afterwards. My idea of a nice present.
I also hint for car wash coupons or gift card. They vacuum it, wash it, do the windows. What more could I ask for?
The best gift my Chicago friend ever gave me was my bright red stand mixer (the first year they came out with bright colors). He knows what I like. We went out to many elegant restaurants and such over the years, and Opera opening night for my birthday one year. I’m still using that mixer every day (even if some days, just the citrus juicer).
I mixed a fresh batch of breakfast bars this week and, being short 1 of the 3 apples, added a handful of cranberries (very seasonal) ;-D

I would actually be over the moon happy to get some new pots and pans for Christmas. The good stuff is expensive.
