At the end of the day the earth could survive a 5 C shift if it occured over 800 years. this does not remain true over 200.

That the people of the Philippines, actually listened to the warnings, and moved out of hazard areas before the storm hit, has greatly reduced potential deaths, is quite a contrast between these “third world” folks, and the idiotic cockiness of Americans who keep their “first world” attitude of defying storms, and “nature”. Arrogance is one of Man’s deadliest traits that goes along with wealth and false security.
