He was outside yesterday, when there were sausages. I think he’s just pretending to be scared so he can go back in the warm.

My dog isn’t in the least bothered by fireworks, fortunately.

What occasion would they be setting off fireworks in Britain?

That’s right – 5th November but it’s now nearly December so why that comic strip appears so late?

Guy Fawkes night or Bonfire night as commonly known in Britain – it is mainly a Protestant celebration celebrating the fact a Catholic plot to kill the Protestant King James I and many MPs in the House of Commons was foiled.

It was foiled when someone in Guy’s gang betrayed them and he was caught red handed about to lit the fuse to many barrels of power keg which would have blown up the whole house of commons (the house was small at the time unlike the modern House of Parliament.). He was later executed by quartering (Ugh! thank goodness it is now banned).

Some Catholics in England now prefer to keep quiet rather than to celebrate nowadays it seems so.

My cat agrees, also my daughter’s dog: fireworks and thunder are entirely unnecessary.

My mom had a Cocker Spaniel when she was little and he would do the same thing. Thunder, fireworks, anything loud, and zip!- under the bed and whimper.
