C’mon Michael, give it back. You don’t need it this second. Elly, go buy John another one.

Michael, you will soon be playing a different Joseph (from Genesis). When John finds out you have his bathrobe, he will strip you of it and toss you into a pit.

I have the feeling Michael did not give Elly much advance notice.

    - I think you’re most likely correct; that happens very often with kids. Now, just out of curiousity, don’t you usually check before showering to make sure you have what you need at hand, especially if you’re already suffering from limits to your mobility? I mean, I always make sure there’s a towel BEFORE the shower, and if my usual robe isn’t hanging in the bathroom, I bring one in. Why would John overlook such basic stuff?

I can relate to John’s aggravation, no matter when the bathrobe disappeared. He’s had a reeeaaally bad week.

If you don’t mind, re: discussion on movies from yesterday….Thank you for the correction on the code. My info came from (please don’t snerk) TCM and their special on the code. Were there aspects that they didn’t start enforcing right away? I remember something about 1934, and there were a LOT of dicey storylines up until then.

When we were kids my eight-years-older brother was an altar boy. He sometimes brought home his white surplice and the long red chasuble with all the buttons. I absolutely couldn’t resist putting that thing on and traipsing around the house in it. I can still hear my brother’s outraged, “Mooooommmm…!” when he discovered me.

Lynn Johnston slipped John some money to do something stupid so her joke would work.

Thank you for your quick reply, and yes, that sounds like what TCM was talking about. Joseph Breen and his strictness sounds familiar. Thanks again.

I hate when the schools do religious based activities, especially plays. It makes us non Christian children feel out of place and left out

Why is John as skinny as a famine victim in the last panel?
