Interesting that my old stomping grounds at the National Park Service only get notice, or requests for adequate funding, when morons on the right force them to be shut down!!

Well, given that the weather guessers are usually wrong in their forecast how much worse could it be?

Why are Republicans trying to rename the government shutdown to government slowdown or slimdown?

“The GOP offers compromises. Obama and Reid say, “My way or no way.” Yep, the GOP’s at fault.”The Democrats “compromised” heavily during the creation of the bill…and by “compromise” I mean “give in to the Republican only to get nothing in return”. The centerpiece of the original bill, single-payer, was removed, and many changes were made to benefit the insurance corporations. After that, Congress passed the bill, the President signed it into law, and the Supreme Court upheld it as Constitutional, and Obama was re-elected. Now the Republicans want more unilateral concessions from the Democrats, despite still having given nothing…they didn’t even provide a single vote in its passage.

So you’re quite right…the GOP is at fault.

And they take an oath to uphold the Constitution, and, by extension, all laws deemed constitutional. They’ve gone from “repeal and replace” to “We don’t give a damn.”
