Paying higher taxes to make sure that everyone in the country has the right to decent health is an automatic given. Why should anyone be against that, especially those who are not taxed as much as they should be anyway (the 1%). Anyone against it is only thinking of themselves, not caring about what is best for the country. Which is why even Cuba has fewer childbirth deaths than the USA… because every pregnant women gets proper health care there. Oh, right! It’s a communist country… oooooh….“communism”…ooooh…. Tell that to countries like Canada which is NOT communist but also has decent health care for everyone. The REAL reason why the Republican Party is against this is simply because they are ready to sacrifice the good of the entire country in order to sabotage ANYTHING about Obama’s Presidency. As such, it makes the Republicans a bunch of irresponsible, stupid, mean-spirited (racist) louts. NOW i understand why they are against Obamacare! Because they are too dumb to know what’s good for them. Ask all those “communists” up in Canada how Health Care destroyed THEIR country. The Canadians (and the Brits and the French and just about anyone else in Europe) will look at you and think you are out of your minds. You know why? BECAUSE YOU ARE!
Coraryan: you can thank the Republicans banning negotiating drug prices for that increase in drug costs. VA gets me the same drugs, for pennies on the dollar compared to what Medicare, or the open market pays. Hmm, how come you can buy drugs, American companies make, for LESS in Canada, and the companies AND the Canadian marketers all still make good profits??? Yep, it’s a “free market”, run by Bonnie and Clyde’s decendents!
he says he wants to help the uninsured get health insurance, so he raises the cost of health insurance even higher, forcing many who have insurance to drop it, then fines those who now can’t afford health insurance. What a charmer he is, no?
Not to mention us Senior Citizens! Our Medicare Advantage Plan has doubled the cost of the premium for next year, the deductible is out of sight & the cost of meds is going up. We are on a fixed income & can’t afford it. I will be 70 next month, am looking at having to find a job to help pay for this disaster. Thank you, Obama!"right, and healthcare hasn’t been going up disproportionately for years before obamacare?let’s face it, you use more healthcare, you should pay more. that’s capitalism baby!don’t like it, either work for it, or die!that’s the republican way baby!
Can you explain what is going on down in the US? It’s been a few years since I last visited, and since then the country seems to have become unstuck. It’s weird sitting up here, where we have a functioning (if imperfect) government, and watching the US government implode. Is the US becoming a failed state?
