Will we need to keep using coal for the near to mid-future? Absolutely, yes. Is it the dirtiest source of energy? Well, not quite, tar sands are giving it a serious run for that title. Are all “energy” sources pretty much controlled by the same world-wide cartels? Yup.
Does the buck beat the brain with the publics? Yup!
The huge Mohave solar project is going on line, providing electricity to something like a 1/2 million homes. It’s made a mess of a lot of desert land, and all “green energy” programs,, wind, solar, etc, are NOT all so “green”.
The secret is a multiplex of opportunities, for both conservation, and generation, but we still need to get a lot smarter on all ends!
The options are closing rapidly if we do nothing, and just making more profit today, like the Kochs DO want, is closing a lot of those options for posterity.
The Prius and other such type “hybrid” cars are really gasoline vehicles that convert gasoline to battery / electric power to then run the vehicle. There are NO commercially made Toyota plug in Prius’s.< a href=“http://www.toyota.com/prius-plug-in/#!/Welcome”>http://www.toyota.com/prius-plug-in/#!/Welcome
Please link us to the site that says Kock Bros are spending millions to suppress clean energy.Your inability to do basic research through Google explains a lot. I don’t expect you to agree with my opinion, but you should at least be aware that the Kochs spend money to support their business interests. We may agree on whether its better or worse for the Kochs to get their way.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/elliott-negin/koch-brothers-fund-bogus-_b_2253472.htmlhttp://cjonline.com/news/2013-02-26/koch-works-behind-scenes-renewable-energy-bill
