I’m not in favor of banning very much, but social pressure can be effective.

It’s interesting that the javelin is banned in most school districts in track, but fatalities and lifetime injuries from football are number one “sports injuries”.

There are a lot of sports out there, and “American football” is by far the most dangerous. I would suggest they do like soccer and Rugby, TAKE AWAY THE PADDING AND HELMETS, that give not only a totally false “sense of security”, but actually INCREASE the injuries, not just the “risk” of injury. Turning young bodies into behemoths by high school age, so the can HIT HARDER, well duh, that’s bright and has nothing to do with steroid abuse, of course.

^Break that down by those causing fatalities, or permanent disabling injuries. Of course: consider the fatalities in golf related to idiots in thunderstorms standing under trees!

Going back to the days of the draft, it was amazing how many guys with football injuries were 4F, and yet many of them went on to play in pro football!! How many basketball and cycling folks have permanent damage from TBI?

While I appreciate your effort, the raw data doesn’t tell the whole story. Thanx you velly much.
