It’s interesting to look back at the vitriolic editorial cartoons published when Roosevelt was urging on Social Security. It seems in many ways we are reliving political and economic conditions from the first decades of the 20th Century. Can we possibly learn anything from back then? Just asking.

emptc 12: My mom just turned 101, and I have all her scrapbooks and “materials” she stored over many years. She was extremely right-wing all those years and it IS interesting all the insulting columns, clippings, commentaries, toons, and letters from Republican politicians she accumulated over the years.

It IS those decades of “conservative” materials that pretty much put up as bull all the right-wingers’ claims of “hateful” liberals!!

Interestingly, Ike (who had a mistress himself for decades) was the most “civil” (perhaps his military background), but it didn’t stop him from letting Joe McCarthy do the dirty work for him!

While it was Ike who sent the troops to Little Rock, changes after Johnson signed the Civil Rights acts, did change the “racial complex”, which IS the real issue behind most folks objections to Obama.

“The bull is misnamed it should be named the current private healthcare providers who’s profits are more important than the service care they sell.”It’s “Colonoscopies for all!”, but you’ll notice the word free does not appear…
