Great, now no one need to fear about abusing drugs. Chalk up another policy about to go wrong due to the D-baggers.

We have had 40 + years of INsanity about 40+ years too much. Giving a 1st offense of 10 years minimum jail-time gives us the notorious honor of having the highest % of it’s citizens locked up that any other nation in the world. think about it.we call ourselves land of the free.

Most of those people have numerous other crimes and if we can somehow afford to build a 70Billion Dollar train in California, then we should be able to lock the criminals up and keep them there.

This @Jeff H here on Ramirez is opposed to fighting terrorism by “sifting through the entire population to see if we can find some future inmates.”Over on Tom Toles, he’s in favor of fighting drug abuse by locking them all up as if they were “no better than child molesters”.Obsessive ideology easily breeds blind hypocrisy.

@HarleyquinnSo where do you put meth on this scale? Or Big Pharma, which fights tooth and nail against laws to return psuedoephedrine, the prime ingredient for cheap and easy manufacture of meth, to prescription status. Two states, out of 25 that tried, have done it, and meht lab busts have dropped by 90% and 75% respectively.

Most drug crimes are committed by “users” who commit other crimes to support their habit. The most serious crimes are by dealers, who are not beyond committing murder to get what they want.

Meanwhile these customers are harming their spouses and children. Stealing to support their habit, which harms who they stole from. And the list goes on. You support that??

You must be on drugs yourself. Using drugs was illegal LONG before Obama came on the scene. Are you REALLY that stupid to use an argument like that???

“Is the dealer who sold that Glee star Cory Monteith, who died of an OD, heroin considered a non-violent drug offender?”

Depends. Did the dealer assault Monteith and force the drugs into his system?

“I doubt his friends and family would think so.”

What happened to personal responsibility and all that stuff? Why are we going to throw people in jail for selling a product that people want despite it consequences? It costs tax payers $50,000-$60,000 a year per inmate to lock them up. I’m with you! Let’s legalize this sh(word)!

Back when Britain treated drug addiction as a medical problem (available under a doctor’s prescription and monitoring), it was found that 5% of addicts per year got off the drugs and there was no underworld market to addict more. Then Empress (outranks queen) Maggie americanized British law enforcement (criminalize addiction, side-armed police, etc.) and now they have just as much of a drug problem as we do.

“What if these small time drug dealers murder your entire family? Do you ant to just slap them on the wrist and let them go to kill again?”Silly Tigger, what if zombies eat your brains? Can you show an example of small time drug dealers randomly killing random families?

Ah, you’ve got selective memory I see, must be too much drug use. Did you NOT see where I said that drug use was against the law way before Obama came on the scene?.And seriously, “Obama Code of Law”? Is that the law where he makes it up as he goes along?

I suppose this explains a fundamental divide, I personally see helping the innocent as having higher precedence than punishing the guilty

“I’m sure you can pick up any Chicago paper and find examples every day.”No, you can’t. You can find plenty of innocents killed because they were in close proximity to a drug dealer. More often than not, they are relatives of said drug dealer. That’s not what Tigger’s sick-o remark was suggesting. So once again, you fail to support your point.
