hasn’t Margaret Thatcher been dead and/or out of office for a while? If her policies are still in place, kept there by the people elected to office by the people of the United Kingdon, doesn’t that imply the majority favors her policies?-FREE HEALTH CARE FOR THE MASSESENSLAVE THE HEALTH CARE WORKERSincluding janitors, nurses, doctors, cooks and anyone else who makes health care cost anything-Or have the Wizard whip up a true cure-all

You don’t need surgery or an accident to have huge medical bills. Even routine doctor visits can cost 150 dollars per visit and routine blood lab test will run over 700 dollars easily.

That is exactly what I say, Sure I can afford health insurance but why should I have to drop down to long waiting lists and poor service to help those who refuse to help themselves?

The problem is forcing someone to pay for insurance(even when they want to opt out). They did it with car insurance(in many states) and now want to do it for healthcare. If you want to opt out, maybe a tattoo across your forehead saying that you don’t want any care at all would work. The way the law has been is that everyone is entitled to first aid. Do you want to change that? What happens when you are knocked out and in danger of bleeding to death? Do you want the hospital to fix you up and then bill your insurance, or do you want them to hold off until you come to or someone stands in for you?

I’m a citizen of both Canada and the US, and have lived in both countries. Canada’s socialized medicine is FAR better than the system we have here in the U.S. Why does every industrialized country in the world, except the US, have a single-payer government-run healthcare system? And why has NONE of these countries changed back to a private healthcare system? Because their healthcare is better than ours!! Far better!!!

And yet, I’ve waited for 2 weeks to ‘see’ my ‘assigned’ MD to ask for a tube of Erythmycin to clear up my eye.. Hot packs and saline drops did it up with intensive care. $140 bucks saved, In ye olde days, a visit to the local walk-in doc would cost five bucks and the admonition to “wash your hands more often”This November, I change ‘carriers’… (grumble)

I just wish the obamacare lovers would realize we’re not getting what the other “socialized medicine” countries have. Obamacare just injects more money into the fat cat’s pockets (big pharmy, insurance, health care chains). and it is not universal healthcare to say “get health insurance or we’ll fine you”. Watch full time jobs get turned into part time ones so companies can avoid benefits. I think the moronic line by Nancy Pelosi says it all “we’ll have to pass it to see what’s in it!”.

“M. Thatcher passed away quite recently, but hasn’t been in politics for some time.”-My point exactly.Even if she had been the worst thing to ever happen to the plantet, others had the chance to change things had they wished.-Personally, I think basic national health care should be placed under Homeland Security so they would be in place to defeat biological warfare attacks. (they could keep in practice by finding and providing cures for common diseases, such as West Nile Virus, flu, Hepatitis, HIV, the cold, old age, Alzheimers Disease, renal failure, heart failure, tooth loss (just lost a filling a few minutes ago), radiation poisoning, cancer, and then we’ll think of other things when they have those conquered.)

“He should have just changed the law to make Medicare available to anyone not covered by something else, and stopped there.”-If you had free coverage under Medicare, would you try to be covered by something else? Also, even though everybody seems to think so, the President does not have the power to just create laws. Senate and House have enumerated power there. (when they don’t act, the President can sometimes ignore them, knowing they wouldn’t dare try to impeach him, but legally, he can’t just MAKE laws.-“And yeah, Obama was an idiot for implementing a plan proposed by Republicans in 1993, fleshed out over a decade by the Heritage Foundation, and then implemented in Mass. by Romney”-Not saying a single thing against the system, but just because a Republican or a group of Republicans propose something is not the same as saying REPUBLICANS proposed it.-As to the TEA Party, as best I can tell, they just believe they are paying enough taxes already and don’t want to pay more. Beyond that point of agreement, they are often quite divided.

“Yeah free market capitalism is great”…It has many good points since true free market capitalism involves people freely deciding how to trade with each other rather than being told they have to do it in some manner congruent with some political or social goal.-" Al Capone was a big supporter"-There is some truth there. He believed he should be unrestricted in alcohol and sex trade. A truly liberal thinker, there. But then he also believed in murder of competitors and that is not part of free market capitalism, so he may be a poor example.-" Another name is Feudalism which is what the big money is getting us back to little by little."-feudalism also doesn’t apply since it involves frozen status in society and is a form of slavery to the lords, wariors, and clerics. That would have nothing to do with freedomor marketor capitalism.(capitalism, by the way is use of money or other goods to earn more money or other goods. Some think it involves only using money to bribe officials but that is not part of the requirement and need not be part of the practice.)

“Long live socialism, Death to the teabaggers”-So you believe anyone who disagrees with you should be put to death?-That doesn’t make any sens- er, I mean I fully agree with you. More power to whatever it is you want as long as you intend to kill any who disagree with you.(Pssst, hey, somebody get a straitjacket while I have him distracted, he needs some free psychiatric care..)

“In Tennessee, you can not opt our of buying Vehicle Insurance, you must have a minimum liability policy before you can get your license or tags or car titled.”-And if people were cars, that analogy would be reasonable, but life and liberty are civil rights, only lower than taxes. And it is through taxes that the act was impowered.ALL HAIL THE TAX MAN.

“Dude, get yourself a dictionary and look up “sarcasm” (and stop being so full of yourself)”-NOPE, knowing the definiton is easy but knowing when people are serious isn’t as easy since so many actually kill for their causes.-And I can’t stop being full of myself because there’s nobody else inside.

“Yes, and you were against this in 1993 and suddenly you’re for it.”-You have me confused with someone else?Life is hard on rational Democrats. Folks keep thinking we’re oxymorons or maybe just morons but why do they keep asking for the oxy?
