Geo. Washington warned us political parties would divide and weaken the nation. This time, we see a republican shown as the one preventing help from reaching the ‘body politic", but liberals who fail to recall the times the Democrats were sitting on the ’lifelines’ place themselves in the same category of extremist with which they label their rivals.Healthcare reform is urgent. Costs are rising and insurance executives, hospital CEOs, are getting 7 figure salaries. Obamacare is not perfect, but a ‘perfect’ solution requires that a Congress lacking in civility, respect, or compromise come together in a ‘more perfect union’ to lay a proper foundation for long term solutions to our the growing burden of health and welfare of our neighbors and fellow citizens.Maybe the Elephant is sitting on the IV, but most of us know that the medicine the Donkeys provided is an imperfect ‘solution’ at this time. Hopefully, we can come together to make these cannibalistic legislators do the jobs for which they get paid so well and after which they retire, they continue to receive so many expensive and lavish benefits.Respectfully,C.
This reminds me of a friend, who after an accident) was told by his doctor he needed immediate surgery on a collapsed lung as his oxygen level had just dropped. My friend, “Do you think maybe you standing on my oxygen hose has anything to do with it?”
“This is another step in the promised “fundamental transformation of America” promised by O in 2008…it looks more an’ more like a fundamental destruction of America, and It needs to be stopped.”
Then you should have done what you could to stop it when it was being rammed down everyone’s throat – including Obama’s, who entered office talking about single payer health care reform.
What we got was a thinly disguised hand-me-down version of RomneyCare from Massachusetts.
The thing is a travesty, no question. But it is NOT a travesty which can be laid at Obama’s door.
The VA system remains overworked and under-funded, but from drugs, to hearing aids, to facilities and services, the agency IS far more efficient, in most areas, than “private/corporate” medicine. The fact that a procedure can can cost $17 K at one hospital, and $250 K at another in another city proves the “private/corporate” system IS the “broken” one. Profit taking, not patient care is the modus operandi in 99% of corporate medicine, in bed, on an IV of cash flow,, with the insurance industry.
The real “terror” for industry is that 80% of the money MUST go to patient care, not “overhead”, or be refunded to patients, saving them a huge amount. (and taking profit and bonuses away from CEOs)
parkerfield, the cheapest foods are the most fattening. If all you can afford is potatoes, bananas, and white bread, it will give you a flabby pasty look. But most people don’t know they can go to healthcare.gov and find that most places, the states that go along with AHC will see about a 50% fall in insurance costs, AND almost everyone will be getting back some money, like up to $100.00.I really doubt most conservatives have not checked out what the .gov site has to say.

Somebody messed up drawing the picture. The main people who are overweight in this country are Democrats living on welfare.
