when I lived in an apartment, my neighbors and I used to make a point of parking our cars at the bottom of the steps to discourage the skate boarders from trying to jump the steps. More than once I saw them fall and nearly get hurt badly. We figured if we parked in that spot they might think twice before smashing into a car, and if all else failed, which it did sometimes, we just called security. SOOOOO glad I don’t live there anymore.Oh and I totally agree with Gray.

Skate boarding seems to be a rite of passage for adolescent males: somewhere between getting the training wheels off their bike and being awarded the keys to a car. In the spirit of “can’t beat ’em, join ’em,” one of the nearby towns built a skate board park. Parking lots in that town are surprisingly safer.

There are places where skateboarding is a crime. Not many, but some. And they usually provide a skate park so they can still get it out of their system.
