And temps and contract workers are that gift. Of course, offshoring all the real jobs made that strategy possible.
Anybody know if MS ever settled that suit brought by the temps who had been working for them for years? People wonder why I have no use for MS. Sadly, Linux has progressed perhaps to the point where MS was with WinDoze95, in terms of end users. That is, not sufficiently functional for much beyond the basics, unless you are a good bit more technically adept than most. I’ll run it in a Virtual Machine until it matures a little more. And then I’ll revert.
I really miss OS/2.
A country which refuses to support its workers is doomed, though, so it may be moot pretty soon.
While the government pays many times more for “contract workers” than government employees, a lot of that cost is ripped off by the contractor corporation, NOT the actual employees! It happens in defense, and also in firefighters working for resource agencies under contract. Then there’s all that defense sub-contracting overseas for even “American made” MILITARY EQUIPMENT! (Interesting indeed that Textron contracts for parts on Hueys to be made in Viet Nam, THAT is some irony!!)
Obama’s Economy. Those boats look like paper boats.A symbol of 5 years of a mis-managed economic policy? It shows the approximate degree of “job security” IMO.The Federal government is not supposed to provide jobs.Congress and the White House are supposed to provide a business-friendly “climate” so that private individuals and businesses can earn profits, grow and expand and hire more workers! Instead, the Treasury has been drained dry. We use worthless paper, getting lower in true value each month the Fed creates another $85 Billion play money.

previous comment was off-topic.
the myth of "trickle down economics has been shown to be (politely) a myth. Truthfully it’s an evil lie.
