    It only seems fitting that hot dog history intersects with the world of cartooning.

    THOMAS ALOYSIUS “Tad” DORGAN (1877-1929). Cartoonist. Born in San Francisco, CA on April 29, 1877. A childhood accident removed three fingers on his right hand and his hopes for becoming a boxer. For manual therapy, he took up line illustration which soon led him to becoming one of the most widely read, left-handed newspaper artists in the U.S.

    Grampa Oliver (Oliver is the family’s last name), is a fan of the fictional minor league baseball team the “Wingnuts.”
