David Petraeus’ CIA was transferring those weapons to Syrian rebels. Stevens got double crossed. There wasn’t any way to save the Americans who died in Benghazi, but there were lots of ways more could have been futilely sacrificed. Issa & the GOP don’t want to us to know why the CIA had a far, far bigger presence in Benghazi, because they supported the operation.Compare this mess up to Reagan’s stupid sacrifice of 258 Americans in Beirut. Sorry pal, no one is buying your garbage. There wasn’t any way to save those 4 Americans once the attack started. The stand down order makes perfect sense to me. All Obama could have done by throwing more people into a murky situation was cause more casualties.The real question is why Stevens was in a place where he knew his security could be inadequate. Also, why did he turn down an offer of a Marine contingent? My guess is they must have been running an operation that they didn’t want average soldiers anywhere near.Benghazi was a CIA operation. Issa & the other Republicans know this, but they don’t want the truth to be told because this is the kind of shenanigans they love: Arms for the Taliban…. err, I mean mujaheddin freedom fighters, Iran-Contra arms for hostages deals, military subsidies for Egypt & Saudi Arabia.Obama should be grateful to you for throwing up a red herring.
