Thomas was pissed that, after having acquired his shiny credential, no one took him seriously because they all assumed that the only reason he had it was because progressives gave it to him to make themselves feel good. A rational assumption at the time. The insufferable arrogance of progressives on the subject of race is a wonder to behold. Any black man who doesn’t appreciate progressive intentions is obviously an “Uncle Tom”, etc.
My token?? Why would he be my token. If in fact his success is a result of affirmative action he is the liberal’s token not mine. I doubt any criticizing him on this site have read his opinions on court cases or heard him speak. Far easier to assume any conservative black man must be an uncle tom. Like Dr. Thomas Sowell, Dr. Walter Williams, or Herman Cain.
