As to “spoilers”. This strip is like a romance novel—you know the principals are going to end up getting married and living happily ever after. Besides, I am re-reading strips from 2008 when LJ finished the story and started re-running the strip from the beginning, which I had never seen. (I started reading it in the paper about the time April was born), so Michael’s happy ending was fresh in my mind.

I own about 5-6 books LJ wrote and have read them many many times. Hmmm may have to start all over again….it’s been much more fun watching her raise her kids than worrying about my own….as they were going through all their teen angst etc.

What a drama king! ;-) You look like you’re having plenty of fun, Michael. Mom certainly isn’t stifling you…

Unlike the dailies, Sunday strips need to be submitted at least two months ahead of the publishing date. As a result, Sunday strips almost never correspond with the story shown in the weekday strips. Bill Watterson learned that lesson when he tried to coordinate some Calvin & Hobbes with dailies and Sundays; he said it was a pain in the butt!

I sure hope John & Elly have good homeowners’ insurance – not so much for the stuff those boys might break, but for the boys who might get broken!

No, I didn’t know that. It is really clever of you to let us all know …Do keep up the good work, it will save us weeks, or years of worry and suspense.

No one “goes gay” anymore than they go white or go tall. It’s genetic, not a choice.

“Aw, couldn’t they spare just one tire to use as a swing?”

Not unless they can scrounge a dead one somewhere. Good winter tires are not up for grabs, period! lol!

Just curious, exactly what would you forbid your kids to do? Play in the sprinklers? Pretend a cardboard box is an airplane? Ride in a wheelbarrow? Sit in a hammock? Ride a tricycle? Sit in your car? Hide in the bushes? Play with the hose? Walk on a low fence? Play with a large ball? About the only dangerous thing I can see here is the kid on the ladder.

And here you see the difference between a real spoiler (thanks to Herp derp) and a mention of a generic future event that most of us could guess anyway. Thank you, Mr. Derp for pointing that out to us.

Have you come out of the closet and admitted to being an insufferable twit who is so starved for attention that you have to turn to snide remarks in the comment section of comic strip to feel important? Any of that ring a bell with you?
