My fingers tend to mix up “in”, “on”, “if”, “of” and so on. Spell check won’t catch them, either. And then I reread my own text and wonder what the heck was I trying to say.
Spelling in English is so absurd! I think it is because we borrow from so many other languages. There are rules, but they are very inconsistent..“i” before “e”, except after “c”, or words that don’t follow that rule like “science”.Vowel combinations, double letters, and silent letters trip me up a lot..Example: Put a label on the table. “el” or “le” They sound the same—WHY THE DIFFERENCE!
