Notice that these guys (jihadist) are attacking soldiers in the countries that helped the U.S. occupy middle eastern countries. A french soldier was stabbed as well though some speculate it to be a copy cat. When will you guys learn that if you invade a country that there will always be some blowback?
“When will you guys learn that if you invade a country that there will always be some blowback?”
Excellent point. Some of us thought of that before there was Shock and Awe.
Here’s the thing: you can’t stop people from hating you if you shoot at them. More likely, you’ll recruit more haters. You cannot kill an idea by killing people. There will always be more people with the same idea.
The first rule of holes is, “Stop Digging”. (Thanks, Molly Ivins.) Time to leave the Middle East. Now. Yesterday. Stay out of Syria. We’ll save money and lives, now and in the future. We have nothing to gain and everything to lose by “fighting them over there”. You may notice they are now bringing the fight over here anyway, proving that previous philosophy incorrect.
If the kid in Albany, Oregon had had a Quran in with his six bombs, Fox (and most of the media) would have been playing it up 24/7. Some dude randomly shooting at folks in Texas likewise appears totally home grown, so no “biggie”.
How many “drive by” shootings by gangs in the U.S. get national coverage, for days, or weeks, after each event?? Yes, there SHOULD be a “war on terror”, the terror of gun and gang violence, much of it associated with the totally failed Reagan “war on drugs”.
your right, they killed one of ours we kill 10 of theirs, you gotta love human evolution at work.
Tragedies will happen but the death of a singular person is not a reason to demand mass bloodshed of those whom live near those responsible. to the same degree that if somebody in your neighborhood was arrested for (insert crime here) and every person in neighborhood was arrested in response
Most civilised countries have indeed banned the carrying of knives. And most of those have already banned the carrying of guns.Perhaps it is strange to realise that people in those countries don’t feel less safe as a consequence.
