If you paid attention in place of complain during class, you could understand it.

I don’t know if we encourage it, or if it’s just a holdover from prehistoric times that many of us would never even think about. We’re drawn to those like us, and distrust those not like us, as though it were still a matter of basic survival.

Still, it’s surprising which ‘basic’ concepts can be stumbling blocks for some. I wasn’t very good in math myself. English and history were my best subjects. And I always did well in lunch and homeroom.

People who excel in business and finance too often have a blind spot to the differences in others. They don’t think of it as a skill- just basic stuff. If they can do, why can’t everyone? That’s my beef with the ITS. They have a bunch of accountants working there, and many of them just don’t get that we can’t all think like accountants.

Oh WOW, can I ever relate to this. And it wasn’t just math. Even in my favorite subjects I had homework assignments that felt like this.

Is possible, but in the matter of this strip that is about school, if a kid is not good in math, english, science, etc., and is not a problem of lack of attention or intelligence, then aults should’t press them to have good grades, that’s one of the things that makes me say (again): “Thanks John Dewey, you ruined american society”
