Did we read the same accounts of IRS perfidy? The “Chicago Way” is to make it tough for your enemies and easy on your friends. But it is not a way to run a government.
Mr. Alacraz’s cartoon is so far off the mark as to make it seem he is addressing an issue of which none of us are aware.I suppose he’s pointing out that most of the applications have been approved, none have been denied, and a couple withdrew. Too bad you do not see the irony of hundreds of groups forming to push back against the over-reaching and over-sized government being held down by an over-reaching and over-sized bureaucracy.
Such a rewrite of reality! Lalo got this backwards. The IRS wasn’t giving tea party orgs tax free status. I only read this strip to see just how woefully wrong a person can willfully be.
