The cartoon has evoked the regular collection of liberal and conservative personal attacks on the “bad guys”. However, the cartoon reminded me that our national anthem is supposedly built on the tune of a British drinking song. The closest I could find was something called the “Anacreontic Song”, but the lyrics didn’t seem to fit the tune of Mr. Key’s song. Key was being held by the enemy when he wrote the poem. I’m pretty sure he didn’t think revealing classified information about American intelligence operations would be the patriotic thing to do at the moment. Why do you?
With over 5,000 dead Americans, and hundreds of thousands of dead civilians overseas, indeed, “what difference does it make now”, that there were no WMDs in Iraq as of 2002? What difference does it make that "W"s folks never got bin Laden? (And years old “Intelligence” did NOT get the job done, by torture, or otherwise.)
