There are certain circumstances where I still wear a fanny pack (like going to a county fair where I want my hands free.) And yes, it is worn in the small of the back.
Goddess knows we can’t possibly wear something that fails to make us look like one of the anorexic airheads on America’s top model. Even if their more convenient than the current fashion in purses which is ugly combined with uglier….

Fanny packs were meant to be worn on the back while riding your bicycle. Not in the front, otherwise they’d be called gut packs.

I always called them belt packs, just to cover wherever the belt was fastened.
