Disproven in one study, proven in others. But cutting education is hardly moving the country in the right direction, unless you’re a Republican who considers Pakistan a paradise (you know, low taxes, high defense spending, huge economic disparities, huge deficits, and prayer in schools).
Both government and independent bodies that have studied the results of the Head Start Program agree that it has failed. Let’s get rid of all failed programs, redundant departments, and Foreign Aid. Stop cutting the good programs enjoyed by the public like National Park funding. When they want to raise unpopular taxes, governments always squeeze the public by cutting things the public actually needs or uses. I don’t recall Congress voting for any significant cuts in their salaries. A few, like Ron Paul, give money back that is budgeted.
