Elderly Woman: He seemed like such a nice fellow...
Boy: I never suspected a thing!
Man: I can't believe he did it!
All: Why would our senator vote against background checks?
Because he loves guns more than he loves children. Background checks are proven to be constitutional, they take nothing away from legal gun owners, and are the first and biggest step in “improving enforcement,” something even the NRA and clueless charlatans like the right-wing posters on this board say they want.
Oh, it’s conceivable, it’s just not true. We know what the majority wanted, the same way we knew who was going to win the election before it happened: because modern polling methods are fairly effective when taken in the aggregate. The only surprises on election night (at the presidential level) came for the people who insisted that the polls were skewed, and it was “just a vocal minority” who supported Obama.
