The cartoon seems to say, “Be afraid, be very very afraid!” I think Mr. Anderson could have made a much better comment in the space his paper and GC give him. Eric Rudolph’s attack on people at the Atlanta Olympics is the best analogy to what has happened in Boston. There will always be people who want to make a statement by doing great harm in places of joy and happiness. But the answer is not to be afraid, the answer is to fight back. to be vigilant, and to not let the haters turn us into haters.I would have enjoyed Mr. Anderson’s cartoon more if the people who appear to be fleeing were more like those in Boston, and New York, and Oklahoma City, and instead of running, were jumping on terror’s legs and working to bring it down.@ dltroutma – it’s not usually your style to compare apples with oranges, Trout. Much less with a story from a book.Just a thought. I have to much respect for you to say more.Sincerely,C.
“So is it better to fight them in their own country or in our own cities?”You don’t even know who “they” are. In case you’ve forgotten, the US does have a history of its own citizens performing acts of terrorism.
Ex-Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf acknowledged his government secretly signed off on U.S. drone strikes, the first time a top past or present Pakistani official has admitted publicly to such a deal.
R.T.: my thought was relative to the fact that “terrorism” IS indeed pretty much the history of Man’s inhumanity to Man, and reasons, well, aren’t very reasoned.
That sort of thinking is just inviting fighting in one’s own cities. Bluster in throwing down gauntlet, means challenge is more likely to be taken up.
- Although I’m wondering about this rush speculation that this terrorism was committed by non-Americans by some , and Americans by others. My comment is a response to DrC’s response to that fool.

I guess we should be thankful this is not as “regular” an occurrence as it is in the middle east. Small comfort in that.

Anyone stop to think that the “flood” of Noah’s time was also an act of terrorism? I mean wiping out all living things takes a very warped mind.
