Good morning, Vagabonds. I spent a nice relaxing day in my apartment yesterday, I can’t even remember if I took the elevator downstairs to get my mail.
Morning, Village.Working at the house every afternoon this week. Gotta get the last touches done before the carpet layers get here Monday. I tried to hook up the stove yesterday, but didn’t quite understand it. So I called the gas company and they’re sending someone out to help me this evening.
Hello, all you happy people..Should be the last sunny morning for a few days, rain starts tonight. A slow moving storm system right through Mom’s day..To all our gals who have had children Have a Happy Mother’s Day!.ttfn
We have been having a terrific trip so far! Loved the first part with the family, and for the next few days we’re playing tourist while the kids are in school, then back for 4 more days on their weekend.
Yesterday we toured the new National Air & Space Museum at Dulles International airport. What a GREAT museum! I sat in awe at the Space Shuttle Discovery, with tears in my eyes. What a TREASURE! So sad that the shuttle program was killed in it’s infancy! What a beautiful bird. It was exciting to imagine what space travel was like in it.
We’re off to Pittsburgh today, to see My Mountain Man’s childhood places, and to enjoy real Polish food. Then, tomorrow and Friday, we’ll explore (to a certain degree) the Shenandoah National Park. We had to plan this leg of the trip around the weather. It was pouring yesterday, and if we leave real soon, we’ll miss another huge storm coming through.
Slim, fragrance was never one of the things I bought for my mother. She didn’t wear much anyway and I don’t think I knew what kind she liked until I was in my 30’s. She just didn’t talk about it. Mother’s Day is making me a little sad missing my mom this year. She’s been gone 7 Mother’s Days so far, and this is the first one to hit me this hard.
David, good call with the gas company. The last thing you need is a bad gas hookup in your “new” house.
Rita, sounds like you are having a blast. One of the other shuttles (Endeavour) is in Los Angeles and I want to get down there to see it sometime.
Arye, you’ve had quite a couple of days with your young friend. Take care and get all the rest you need.
Gloomy and rainy here yesterday and today. Turned the heater back on for the first time in more than a month this morning. But, fear not, the forecast is for triple digits by next Monday.

There are two times a year that one sees a lot of fragrance ads on the TV. One is Christmas, the other is almost here.
