Think about it Heart: s’pose some kid asks what 1+1 is, what answer are you gonna give them?

She wants to be an actress/stage and tv performer. Last I knew, they had to memorize stuff. Would be ironic if she were auditioning to play Madame Curie in a biopic and not have a clue about chemistry for want of paying attention in class (“She died of radium poisoning? What’s radium?”)

In Japan, the teacher puts just the answer/solution on the blackboard/testsheet, and you’re scored on how close you came to the correct way to get the solution

In my day, eraser-clapping was rotated through all the students in the class; everybody took a turn, and every day it was somebody else. Someone to clap the erasers, someone else to clean the blackboard (actually a green board, with yellow chalk. Don’t ask me why, something to do with it being better for kid’s eyes or some tosh), collect and sharpen the pencils, and one or two other things. But this only went on until the second grade.

Get used to it Heart; that’s pretty much how all of high school and university work.

There’s a lot of truth in the first two panels.
