You are 16 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 14 weeks)The fetus measures nearly 5 inches (12cm) from head to buttocks. The fetus weighs about 3.5 ounces (100 grams). The fetus is covered with a protective soft down to regulate its temperature.Fat begins to form underneath skin.

Baby hears external voices, sleeps and dreams.

Your baby has learned to breathe. This is apparent from the regular movements of his chest, inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid. These actions help the lungs to develop and grow. More developed facial muscles may lead to various expressions, such as squinting and frowning. Your baby nows weighs more than their afterbirth. The baby can grasp with his hands, kick, or even somersault.http://www.baby2see.com/development/week16.html

It’s not just abortions they’re restricting in Arkansas. The powers that be also want to cutoff funding to Planned Parenthood that provides a multitude of services for women including cancer screening & prenatal care. The Republicans have become the American Taliban with these extreme measures.

No one is saying that either. It seems that right wingers have this problem with comprehension. A stricter background check does not mean turn in your guns to the gubbermint.

No, no one is demanding that you surrender your gun. This is a blatant falsehood perpetrated by the gun lobby and those who just refuse to listen to anyone else’s point of view. And the term “murder” is subjective. Many people value the life of a fetus (or even a 10-day old embryo) as equal to that of the mother; I, personally, do not, and the Bible (in multiple parts of the Old Testament) supports me. But regardless of religious beliefs, it seems to me that many people who insist that they are pro-life are, in fact, pro-death when it comes to sensible gun regulation, access to quality health care, and local and global environmental concerns.

Russel: “dry” county thing can be a real pain if you just like a glass of wine with dinner. There ARE some pretty nice places in Arkansas (best friend lives there and we visit fairly regularly) but you couldn’t pay me to live there. BTW, it’s incredible how many different banks there still are in the state, even though so many residents are broke!

So, I’m going to presume that most of the Conservative posters here have effectively surrounded themselves with others of the same kind. Effectively isolation outside thought so as that you may demonize anyone whom thinks differently.

    Hopefully you will read this

97% of all abortions happen by week 16. of those past it is 94% for medical reasons.

Now I’m sure you have managed to contrive yourself into believing that all liberals are out to kill babies but please ask yourself if that is a logical statement.

The point from a liberal POV is that by 16 weeks the fetus is its own life, not prior. And that setting a ban to net that 6% of 3% (0.01%) will effectively condemn many other cases, and that the mother’s life should be held above the fetuses, either by logic that one is an adult or by the logic that in many cases the fetus AND the mother would die

That said this still is the same place where welfare (11% of federal budget) is blamed on the entire deficit (24%)

When these so-called pro-life laws assure the children saved from abortion of daycare, decent education and breakfast I will take them seriously.
