Good morning, Vagabonds. I expected Shirttail Slim Slim to post before me. I hope this GoComics “rebuilding” project isn’t affecting him; Jan emailed me that she can’t get into some of the comics also.

Well, in 2 weeks I’ll be returning to New York, probably until the end of November. In the next 2 weeks I must hire a neighbor to oil my hurricane shutters; close them if my roommate doesn’t return by then; begin packing up, notifying the telephone company as well as U-verse, utilities, and change of mailing address as well as eating/disposing of perishable foods, etc.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

I did have trouble yesterday getting into GoComics. I later discovered that while I couldn’t get in using Google Chrome, FireFox works just fine. Go figure.

Temp is supposed to get back up to the mid 70’s on Wednesday, as opposed to below 70 like it has been for the past two days. The wind has finally died down again, too. Woo Hoo! I can open up the windows again.

Bible study in the AM. Time for me to head for the sack. G’nite.

Morning, Village.I’m conferring the Order of the Temple again tonight. I’m looking forward to this because the Order of the Temple is such a beautiful degree. In my opinion, it’s the most beautiful degree in Masonry.Speaking of which, I watched a documentary on TV last night, “Secrets of the Secret Societies.” What a bunch of drivel! Freemasonry was accused of sorcery, occultism, and political conspiracy. I wish people would stop attacking other people like this.

David, Freemasonry has been attacked like that practically since its founding. I suspect that it has to do with the fact that Masons don’t tell their secrets and people assume that if you have secrets, they must be guilty ones. My dad was a Mason and Shriner (El Bekal in Long Beach, CA) both York and Scottish Rite. He was active in DeMolay most of his life and received a 50 year pin as a DeMolay advisor.

There is a book I read as a young adult by Robert Heinlein, “Revolt in 2100” that collects several stories about a rebellion against a theocratic dictator in the US. The Freemasons were instrumental in leading the rebellion and the Masonic initiation rituals were detailed. I had my Dad look at the descriptions and he got pretty upset but wouldn’t be specific about it.

Interestingly enough, in the story, the election that brought on the dictatorship in the US was “projected” to be in 2012 and there was no 2016 election. Hmmmmm…….

    Good Morning, Everyone,

Well, it warmed up to 41 yesterday, and only got down to 27 during the night. Not too terrible.

We’re heading over to Billings tomorrow for the Spring Used Book Sale at the library. Can’t wait! We’ll also play tourist, and explore an area called Fort Smith just south of Billings. It’s an Indian area, so it should be interesting to go back in their history.

    Hi, Everyone,

Just received an email from Slim. He says he still has password problems and can’t get in to the comics. But he is okay otherwise.
