The title of Dr. Smythe’s thesis: “Lost in Cyber Space.”Why fight it? Put it on a podcast!

I don’t fight it because that’s just how life is now; but I am horrified when I see people on ates ignoring each other so they can mess with their phones. Same issue as if you went to a party with someone and he or she ignored you to talk to other people all night. (I have a personal iPhone 5 and a work Blackberry, but I am not absored by them.)

Did anyone stop and think? We got smart phones, HD gaming devices, Facebook, Twitter….We gave up on flying cars for this? We should have had personal jet packs by now!

That was my point bringing them up. I believe there are public use ground effect (water, actually) vehicles in Europe. I want a personal one! Not likely bullet trains will be built in great numbers soon — no state wants to spend the money for infrastructure, and private companies won’t invest unless the state governments do..What if the transportation industry had always been so risk-adverse? We’d still be using horses and primitive steam power. .Barring an “anti-grav” belt or even a personal flying car, I’d settle for a Waldo device (remote manipulator) safe and flexible enough to go hiking and mountain climbing and make it seem as if I were really there.
