People like to complain about Presidents taking too many vacations. Why not? If Congress is away, he can’t get anything done anyway! Go golfing. Go yachting. Go brush cutting. Since Congress is supposed to pass laws, wait for them to act.

I believe Mark Twain or Will Rogers said “No man or his money is safe while Congress is in session.”

Boehner is also supposed to be a leader, is supposed to lead the House, and is 3rd in line to be President.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-edit-deficits-20130220,0,1191274.story-Excellent article, printed 2 pages landscape….O’s hometown newspaper editorial 2/20/13. Obama sent Jack Lew and Rob Nabors, staff members, to deliver the “Sequester Plot” (my term) to Dem.Reid in the Senate on 7/27/11.-“Members of both parties voted for (it)…and Obama signed it into law.”-Now that all time is gone…4 years without a Democrat Senate Budget….Obama’s voted down with ZERO “yes” votes….and the Democrats having rejected GOP House-passed Budgets with spending cuts….this President…(“what’s most immediately at stake is Obama’s credibility”)…takes to the friendly skies of the MSM to accuse the GOP of every dastardly deed possible to hurt Americans….Blame Game…gets a failing grade from the Chicago Trib’s editors.-“….as March 1 approaches, Obama looks sequestered—-in denial of America’s debt crisis, and in denial of the consequence of his White House proposal.”

Thanks to all for suggestions on how to get my system back to functioning with GC. Today I signed in, same problem, was reading a comic and my screen flashed and everything returned to normal. Go figure. I’m convinced it had something to do with Adobe Flash and my system. Anyway, considering the current toon.

@Ansonia and Disgustedtaxpayer. Both of you allude to a very good point about leadership. Leadership has failed on all three levels of government here. The president and congress are both finger pointing and doing nothing. What is lost in this issue is timing. Compromise and realistic economic planning takes time, it can’t be slammed together in some last minute deal just to avoid some arbitrary deadline. Yet when people have there arms folded and their attitudes in high gear, you can’t even start to make progress. Call them, email them, often. They need the heat turned up on them.

“The majority of Americans are sick and tired of these worthless tea bagging crybabies.”

Yes, who are these evil destroyers of society you so constantly rail on? Do they have so much power that they can obstruct the function of government? Or maybe they are a convenient target for abuse because the greater body of congress is dysfunctional.

You also need 60 votes in the Senate to pass a budget, or anything other than renaming a post office.

Sharuniboy said, about 2 hours ago@disgustedtaxpayer…..(insulting message to disgusted from Sharuniboy)-FYI, I have been reading the Constitution since before I graduated from high school in 1948. I own several copies and I give away copies to young people who got little education on our US founding documents.-With a Democrat president, whose required-by-law annual budgets are usually late and voted down by congress…and the House was controlled 2 years by Dems….and the Dem senate dumps all GOP house budgets and bills….of course I post my frustration with the Democratic political dirty tricks in the congress and Oval Office.-there is such a chasm between D and R models of government operation, it is like trying to bridge the Atlantic Ocean in the attempt to work for compromise and agreement.-the Dems want bigger annual spending authority and higher taxes and to XXXCCCQQQ with deficits and debt.the GOP elected members want to stop the overspending and to lower taxes that punish workers and business creators, to permit business to operate without growing intrusion by fed laws; so that jobs in the private sector will be able to grow for the 8.5 million workers dropped out of the labor force since Obama was sworn into office in Jan. 2009.-when will the Dems compromise to make real cuts that lower the annual spending that in 4 years ran up $6 Trillion debt and Obama calls for more, more, more spending?Phoney accounting is how O claims “cuts” which are only lower increases in yearly spending plans.

What I find interesting about “TEA party”, JBS , NRA, and so called “sovereigns” is theyt all scream “The Constituton!!!”, and none of them have ever read it, or gotten into basic English, especially of the meaning at the time the document was written, and never have a clue what it actually says. LIke their constantly “quoting” Jefferson especially, it’s always out of context, and lacks understanding of the full meaning.

The framers DID intend the document to be a “living” document, thus providing the means for amendments. “Originalists” are clueless. The duties of the Executive, House, Senate, and SCOTUS and “inferior” courts are clearly spelled out, but Boehner, McConnell, and most on the right are clueless, and it just keeps being demonstrated every time they meet in “Congress”.

Okay, then why did Paul Ryan at the time it passed take all the credit for REPUBLICANS “controlling out of control spending”?? Selective memory, like ignorance, is a modern “conservative” base protocol.
