Into each life a little rain must fall. The simple solution would be to just make the gun control laws in California national. They can be inconvenient, but all the background checks, waiting periods, laws about private transfer, dealer regulations are in place. All the criminals in our most violent cities like Oakland, Stockton, L.A. et. al are still well armed but they just buy their guns and ammo on the black market and avoid all those irritating restrictions.

I posted before that I wanted to sell a 12 guage shotgun and get a .22 Ruger rifle and that is when I found out that only dealers do background checks. I sold the shotgun to my neice’s boyfriend whom I knew to be of good character.BTW a shotgun slug has about 200 to 248 times the impact of a ..22 lohgrifle bullet.

Rockngolfer: a 12 gauge 00 buckshot has 9 .32 caliber pellets, and is an excellent defensive tool, against multiple attackers, my Remington 870, like the lady cited in the Congressional hearings, who the “witness” did NOT know what kind of weapon she used, also stated she didn’t see any need, or use for an “assault” weapon when she has that 870.

While “violent crime” is down, gun deaths are going back up after reaching a low point. It is projected that guns will soon kill more people than cars, which are down again to about the numbers in 1936. Cars are being made safer, guns “in demand” are far more dangerous, and deadly than “older models” and readily available.

What liberal organization considers shooting anything that moves to be a reasonable action?

according to the CDC, in 2011 there were over 30,000 firearm deaths. over 19,000 of them were self inflicted. funny thing about statistics, like Mark Twain said.

Fuzzy numbers can always be used to promote a liberal agenda. Deceit (a form of telling a lie) is the only way they can accomplish their goals. If honest number analysis is used, they would show the need to have guns and be armed. Walt Handelsman should be proud of his lies and deception.

Two ex-SEALs, one the most successful sniper, taken out on at a firing range. If highly trained combat men are victims, exactly how is a school teacher with a pistol supposed to defend her classroom against a gunman?

BTW: with the flap over Kerry, might note that in ’99 Wayne La PIerre was FOR blanket background checks, before he was against ’em.
