Those who think augmented gun control is a laudable public safety objective are not engaged in opportunistic “bashing”. They don’t come to this seeking ways to embarrass the Right and its minority party. Republicans are embarrassing enough already.

Isn’t it funny that for the ten years the Brady Law was in effect, weapons were not confiscated from everyone. The present proposed laws are a continuation of that same law with a call for stricter background checks including for private sellers at gun shows.

Did anyone see the doctored tape that MSNBC put out to further their anti-gun agenda?

Ask an NRA member the following: ‘How many deaths will it take to convince you we need more gun control?’ They will be unable to answer you. They don’t care about who dies. It’s not an issue for them.

Excellent cartoon. I cannot believe that anyone would object to background checks, unless they were a criminal. Assault rifles are only good for one thing, to kill humans.

Why are gun activists (or apologists) so afraid of background checks for everyone? What do they want to hide?

I’ll bet you’d be all for spending the money if it was to put a gun in every home.

Gun safety is what everyone who uses a gun needs to learn. maybe like when you renew your drivers licscece, only do it when you by the licscece, have people take a small refresher lesson.

There’s no such thing as gun violence. There’s violence. Blaming guns for the violence is like blaming crowbars for robberies or cars for traffic accidents. Irresponsible people will cause damage without their cars, robbers will break in without crowbars and violent people will kill without guns… or with illegal guns. Because the bottom line here is that criminals are defined by their lack of respect for the law. So trying to regulate them by law is stupid. And if you can’t understand that by logic, you should have learned it by experience. Because it has been done before, many times, and every single time it was a failure.

^wow never thought of it that way. So you’re saying that having a gun is like living with an HIV infection? Gun ownership as a disease. there’s a concept for ya’Frankly i think the rush to buy large magazine semi-automatic weapons on a massive scale was more like a cancer on our society.

Politicians have shaped this debate into something other than ‘prevent mass murders’. Biden has made it clear that he has no answer on how to prevent Sandy Hook other than to have an armed guardian at the school (rich liberals send their children to schools with armed guardians)..A bigger problem is inner-city gun violence. Over half of gun crimes happen there. So, pass a law that bans guns for the hot spots. Ohh. Wait. Chicago already has one. Why is it that outlaws will not conform to existing laws? So, who thinks passing another law, that outlaws will ignore, will solve anything?
