I don’t know who started the practice, but I remember reading something years ago that in leaving four pennies on the table after a lousy meal, or wait staff experience, was the highest form of displeasure one could show said establishment?My wife and I did it once in Monterey, CA years ago. Don’t know if they ever got a clue, but we never went back !
